Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 July 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Grounder ("Grounder", "we", "us") when you use grounder.dev, our API, or our MCP tools (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1. What Grounder does
Grounder is a tool that fetches live content from the public web - search results, the text of a page, or a small pack of relevant passages - and hands it back to your app or model. Grounder returns evidence; it does not write answers, and it is not responsible for what your app or model does with the content it receives.
2. Your account and API key
- Your API key is like a password. Keep it secret, and don't share or resell it.
- You are responsible for everything done with your key, and for keeping your account details accurate.
- One free key per person. Please don't create multiple accounts to get around plan limits.
3. Acceptable use
Use Grounder lawfully and reasonably. You agree not to:
- Break the law, or use the Service to infringe anyone's rights, including copyright and privacy.
- Retrieve or use content you don't have the right to access or use. You are responsible for complying with the law and with the terms of the websites you point Grounder at.
- Use the Service for spam, harassment, malware, or other harmful or deceptive activity.
- Try to overload or disrupt the Service, reverse-engineer it, or resell it as if it were your own.
We may suspend a key we reasonably believe is being used this way.
4. Retrieving web content
Grounder retrieves publicly available web pages that you ask it to. You decide what to fetch, and you are responsible for having the right to access and use that content for your purpose. Grounder is a tool; how you use what it returns is up to you.
5. Plans, billing, and refunds
- Paid plans are monthly subscriptions billed through Stripe. They renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime from the billing portal. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for, and you won't be charged again.
- Your monthly quota resets each billing period; unused calls don't roll over.
- We may change prices or plan limits. We'll give reasonable notice, and changes apply from your next billing period.
- Refunds: we generally don't refund partial months. But if something went wrong on our side, email [email protected] within 14 days and we'll make it right.
6. The Service is provided "as is"
We work hard to keep Grounder reliable, but the web changes constantly and some pages will fail or return incomplete results. The Service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We don't guarantee uptime, or that any result is accurate, complete, or current.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Grounder is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.
8. Termination
You can stop using the Service and cancel anytime. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or don't pay. If we end your account without cause, we'll refund any unused prepaid time.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a significant change, we'll update the date above and, where reasonable, let you know. Continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated terms.
10. Contact and governing law
Questions? Email [email protected]. These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Grounder's operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
